Compassion.

We hear it alot but do we actually know the definition of compassion? I looked it up in google and it says: "a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering." Usually when we think about compassion we think about the less-fortunate, the people who live in poor countries such as Afrika or so. But I've learned that compassion is not only for the people over there, it's about ALL people in this world. It's about loving people in my surroundings. We all tend to compete with eachother, try to judge one another because we like to feel that we're doing better than another person. We always try to be smarter, be prettier, be richer. But Jesus said in John 15:12 "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." I knew this verse for a long time but never was willing to do it. God really opened my eyes to see that it is important!! Everyone around me is broken, is hurt. We all have our own story and instead of "competing" or "judging" why not give them love? It doesn't mean you gotta fake your kindness, no, be sincere. Help them if they need you, give people your best smile instead of an irritated look. When people are mean, forgive them and pray for them. Try to react out of love instead of hate. Trust me you will live with such peace in your heart. I'm not saying I'm perfect, in whatever, especially not in loving people. But again, it's about WILLING. I'm willing to try to love the people around me, even if I don't know them or they've hurt me. And the best example given is really Jesus. Unconditional love He gave us, even when people were spitting on Him, even when they tortured Him while He was shedding blood and the people laughed at Him. He still said "Father forgive them, for they don't know what they do." Amazing. Love God, love people. Love, Yin
