A couple of months ago I shared something about Refreshment. I was reading the notes yesterday and I really needed to be reminded about this again. This has really blessed me and I think it will bless you too :)
So the title is: you DESERVE some refreshment.
God understands how we are surrounded by temptation. Maybe nothing is going on in our lives at the moment. We may think like okay church and the youth are my weekly routine and is getting pretty boring, well THAT is a moment when you are getting tempted.
Hebrews 4:15-16 says "15; For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16; Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." He knows it. He knows everything. Our weaknesses. Our shortcomings. He knows how easy it is to think negatively and how easily our hearts and minds get poisoned by it. He took the form of man and experienced how it is to live in a world we live in. And he knew how easy it is to be bitter and hateful. But Jesus was brave enough to take the difficult path, which is to LOVE rather than HATE. I think most people in this world think that HATING is more tougher than LOVING. When you forgive people it means you're weak because you give in. Little do they know that to treat people with LOVE or live a life full of positivity is for the BRAVE ones. And if you do forgive and love people, it's not because we are good. We love because He first loved us and because He is good. Jesus should be our rolemodel. Everytime something happens to us remember; He also experienced it, He felt it, but still He made the deciscion to not let it destroy Him.
When circumstances changes, when situations are getting pretty bad around us, remember that God allowed it to make us stronger. Even though it’s hard to remember this. But know it’s the truth and believe that He wants to take control if you let Him. God dislikes it to see us suffer but He knows we can do it because He gives us strenght. He believes in you and me.
We have to learn how to stand strong and not being beaten up all the time. Start being mature in God. Start thinking mature. Start acting mature. (This one I highlighted lol! I need to remind and train myself to do this). But how can we be mature then? Well, it’s really important to repent everyday. Repentance is not only when you get baptised in church. No, repentance should take place everyday in your life when you come to Him. And it’s for your own good anyway. You have realize that you DESERVE freshment. You are worthy to be happy and to live in peace because you're loved by the Almighty God. You deserve to be free from all chains. This is your time of refreshment. Refreshed in mind, heart & soul.
Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
