From the day we were born we expect things. We expect having two parents who will raise us up with love. We expect them to take care of us, demanding they should feed us, give us a home, prepare us until we're ready to start our own life (career, family etc.) Ofcourse, that's the job of people called parents, but don't forget, they're human too. They can fail too. I had so many expectations from both of my parents, I thought that I had the RIGHT to all those things.When you're in a relationship, you expect your partner to live up to your expectations. When you're working, you expect your work to live up to your expectations. When you're in a community, you expect the church to live up at your expectations. And when they don't live up to your expectations, you get dissapointed. How could we ever think we have the right to all that? What good did we ever do to receive all those blessings? There are people all over the world who don't even have two table spoons of rice to eat. Once you realize you DON'T deserve it and that it's all by favor and grace, you will appreciate life more. You will give your best to everyone and everything you do without even thinking about getting something in return. The only one we can expect things from is the Big Man up there. But don't get dissapointed at Him for not getting what you want when YOU are the one who's doubting His excistence or power. God is able to give you all the things you want, but He wants you to seek Him first. And if you don't get what you want, ask yourself: is it really something that I need? Or is it just to satisfy my needs for a while?
Stop blaming everyone around you because you haven't made the decision to be happy. Look what you already have instead of what you still want. And everything you expect from people, start doing it! The change you wish to see in others, start changing it! It all starts with you. Love, Yin
